CATERPILLARS AND
BUTTERFLIES We
have chosen the butterfly to represent believers who
are in Jesus Christ. A caterpillar is a natural
person to use St. Paul’s term for the state we are
in before receiving Jesus as Savior. A caterpillar is a consuming, destroying, nearly immobile, self-concerned creature. It does all it can to survive and it contributes little to its world. A natural person, an unbeliever, is like a caterpillar. The butterfly, by
comparison, is free to travel from one place to
another, taking life with it where it goes. The
butterfly comes in many sizes, shapes, and beautiful
colors. New Creatures in Christ have these same
attributes. |
